Use Your Lifeline: Get a Life Coach

After 20 years as a practicing psychotherapist, Susan Quinn (M.A., M.F.T.) decided to become a life coach. She still keeps office hours and sees clients in her Los Angeles facility, but another need also cried out to be met.

“People from all over the world were emailing me and asking if I could work with them on the phone,” Susan Quinn says. “As a psychotherapist, I can't do that. But as a life coach, I can.”

In additional to her impressive array of other credentials, Susan Quinn is a Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP) master practitioner and trainer. This gives her an effective tool that can be used over the phone when face-to-face meetings aren’t practical.

“I can use these powerful change techniques to help my clients move through their blocks to achieving their dreams,” she says. “It’s more focused than therapy. I help people find their special niche and motivate them to move forward.”

What is a Life Coach?

Life coaching is used by a growing number of psychologists to aid clients with transitions in their personal life and in the process of self-actualization.

A life coach typically draws from a number of disciplines, including sociology, psychology, career counseling and other types of counseling. The coach or counselor applies mentoring, values assessment, behavior modification, behavior modeling, goal-setting and other techniques in assisting clients.

Clients often find that “knowing what they want” is much more challenging than the actual process of “getting what they want.”

“Once they understand through self-exploration what they want,” says Susan Quinn, “I coach them until they’ve accomplished their goals.”

As a life coach, Susan Quinn can do much more than help you achieve your true desires. She specializes in helping you through all the twists, turns and bumps in the road along the way. She can coach you through transitions such as:

  • Divorce
  • Mid-life issues
  • The break-up of a relationship
  • Bringing new life to an established relationship
  • Feeling stuck in career
  • Finding your potential
  • Discovering what you really love
  • Finding the right direction to take with your life
  • How to feel passionate about your life

“One transition often leads to another,” Susan Quinn says, “especially when we are really living a large life! Often clients of mine will feel empowered through our work together to leave an unsatisfying relationship, and almost immediately they get a better career and relocate to a place where they had only dreamed they could live before.”

Don’t Feel Dead and Stuck

“As a therapist,” says Susan Quinn, “I noticed that people work so hard climbing the ladder of whatever career they have chosen, and at some point they realize their ladder may be up against the wrong building. They feel so dead and stuck, and they don’t know what to do.”

After two decades as a licensed psychotherapist working with clients in Los Angeles, she has learned how to effectively motivate people.

“I help them design their ideal life based on what their values are,” Susan Quinn says. “I help them build the confidence to accomplish their dreams and coach them through until they have achieved those dreams.”

NLP (Neuro-Linguistic Programming) is a technology of the mind, the science of achievement, and the study of success. It’s based on the search for and the study of the factors which account for either success or failure in human performance.

As an NLP master practitioner and trainer, Susan Quinn can use these powerful techniques of change to help you move through your blocks and achieve what you want.
